Job Title: Maintenance Technician (Part-time position, up to 10 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours)

Location: Milford First United Methodist Church (MFUMC) & A Million Dreams Learning Center (AMDLC), 541 Main St. Milford, OH 45150

Reports to: Rev. Kenneth Stewart, MFUMC Lead Pastor & Allie Frank, AMDLC Director. The Technician will work closely with the church’s Trustee Committee, attending meetings and providing updates.

Position Overview: We are seeking a reliable and responsible Maintenance Technician to join our team. This part-time position (10 hours per week) will involve performing routine maintenance and repairs to ensure that both the church and daycare facilities remain safe and well-maintained for staff, congregation and community members, and children. The role requires someone with a keen eye for detail, the ability to address maintenance issues promptly, and a positive, service-oriented attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform regular inspection of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting, and identify maintenance needs.

• Handle minor repairs and adjustments as needed (e.g., fixing leaks, replacing light bulbs, repairing furniture, routine painting, installing equipment).

• Assist with setting up events and meetings, including arranging furniture and equipment.

• Address urgent maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.

• Conduct routine cleaning of air conditioning units, filters, and vents.

• Keep track of inventory for maintenance supplies and report the need for reordering.

• Support the Church and Learning Center with special maintenance projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in general maintenance or a related field is preferred.

• Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.

• Ability to perform minor repairs and handle equipment and tools safely.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and respond to emergencies as needed.

• Flexibility to work additional hours for special events or maintenance needs.

• A positive, friendly, and service-oriented attitude.

• Background check required (due to the daycare setting).

Work Schedule:

• This is a part-time position requiring approximately 10 hours per week, with the option for additional hours depending on needs.

• Flexible scheduling is available based on facility needs.

Compensation:

• $25 per hour, with potential for increases based on performance and tenure.
